Move Creative is pleased to announce the selection of its app, Health Rocks!®, as the 2014 NAE4-HA Interactive 4-H Educational Website National Award. This is the second time in three years Move Creative, in partnering with UNL Extension, has received this award.

Health Rocks!® is curricula for a healthy living program targeted at young people ages 8 to 14. Health Rocks! helps youth develop life skills in the area of critical thinking, decision-making, communication, managing feelings, stress management and goal setting; in turn building resiliency skills, and promoting the resistance of risky behaviors.

Move Creative was hired to translate the curricula to a fun and interactive web and tablet game for kids. The carnival themed game features seven mini-games, with original character development and artwork, that teach various skills in avoiding drugs and alcohol. The games include a pinball style game where players earn or lose additional plays based on answer to real-life scenarios, a jeopardy-style quiz game that engages the participant against the computer, a driving game that simulates sober vs. drunken states, a hidden objects game, a dart game that includes a true or false quiz, a game wherein the player must match the costs of their drug use, and a ball toss game asking players to decide which substances are legal or illegal.

Upon completing the games, the cumulative score represents the overall health status that is reflected on the character chosen. Doing well in the game earns Health Points, elevating the character closer to superhero status. Student scores are logged in a national leaderboard viewable within the game and time spent in the game is logged with a secure user account.
